Artwork on Equity
for Dasra, Impact India Foundation, Philanthropy Week

The concept of the artwork is based on early map designs,
where we have the global north represented by a father
and the global south represented by a mother.
While the mother represents care and focus,
the father represents tenacity and compassion.
They both carry strength and love
as they are seen carrying their children on their backs while at work.

We see the children reach out to each other,
opening a hopeful channel of connection,
where urban and rural communities thrive together.

The people represented by folk arts depict
an exchange of ideas, resources, culture, and, communication;
a discussion involving the global north, global south,
and their power reflection.

The landscape depicts different terrains of politics and socioeconomics.

As an ode to creativity and creation, possibilities and fertility,
the father is seen building the sign of equity,
and the mother is seen with swaying lush crops.

The gold of the equity symbol and the crops reflect
on their faces and hands, a metaphor for toil, sweat, and hope.
